[OSEN=지민경 기자] Jennie of the group Blackpink was selected as one of the 50 influential women of 2023 by WWD in the United States.
On the 6th, American fashion magazine WWD announced the list of 50 influential women in 2023. The list included a variety of celebrities leading fashion culture, from CEOs to celebrities.
Blackpink Jennie was the only Korean celebrity selected to the list. WWD introduced Jenny as the Chanel muse chosen by Karl Lackerfeld.
WWD then mentioned Jenny’s collaboration with CK last May and revealed that one post she posted on social media was worth $2.1 million (about 2.8 billion won in Korean currency). Additionally, Jenny participated in this year’s Met Gala for the first time and also attended the Cannes International Film Festival for the first time, showing off a variety of fashions.
Jenny said through WWD, “I like a variety of fashion. Inspiration always changes. “I’m a fan of everything from the 80s, 90s and 70s,” he said. “We focus on creating visuals that match the songs, and the clothes I wear have to match, so it’s all important to me.”
Jenny continued by saying that confidence is the most important. “Women can become powerful when they know that their voices matter and their worth. Especially in an industry like mine, it’s very important to be confident in what you believe in. “When we are free to be creative and pursue what we want, that’s how we become powerful.”
Meanwhile, in addition to Jenny, the 50 influential women of 2023 include entrepreneurs including Delphine Arnault, the eldest daughter of the LVMH Group Chairman and CEO of Christian Dior, luxury brand designers and directors, politicians, and celebrities such as Hailey Bieber, Selena Gomez, and Scarlett Johansson.
