Following the release of their planet stewardship video, BLACKPINK members were appointed as public relations ambassadors for the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) held at the residence of the British embassy in Jung-gu, Seoul in South Korea.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson of the United Kingdom presented them with the distinction and congratulated Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa and Rosé for the great success of the spot they made.
“Your video ‘Climate action in your area #COP26‘has been viewed more than 10 million times on social media and has been a huge success. Climate change is the most important thing for our generation. It was very welcome for us that you have spoken on such an important topic at this time ”.
For its part, Simon Smith, representative of the British embassy in South Korea urged fans of the K-pop group to join this initiative to take care of the planet.
