SEOUL, Dec. 25 (Yonhap) — YG Entertainment said Monday that South Korean girl group BLACKPINK will hold a virtual reality (VR) concert under the title “BLACKPINK: A VR Encore” on the Meta Horizon platform. Worlds” on December 26.
The band’s agency said that the event was specially captured and produced for virtual reality at the finale of the band’s “Born Pink” world tour at the “Kuchyeok Skydome” in Seoul.
During the event, the band will perform their famous songs such as “How You Like That” and “Pink Venom” for 70 minutes.
The agency said that the concert was filmed in the front row seat, so viewers can feel the liveliness from a first-person perspective, and described the concert as a unique opportunity to experience a Black Pink concert in virtual reality.
The band said: “We are happy to be able to introduce our music to more global fans in a new way. This concert is part of our world tour in which we have put a lot of effort, so we hope our fans will enjoy it as well.”
The concert can be watched in the United States, Canada, Britain, France, Iceland, Ireland and Spain as well. Rewatching will be available for a month.
Blackpink held the “Born Pink” world tour last year and this year. During the world tour, the band held 66 concerts in 34 cities around the world.
The band attracted approximately 2,115,000 people, including 250,000 at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in the United States and 65,000 at the Hyde Park Festival in Britain, at which the band performed on the main stage.
