Blackmagic Design has announced a new cinema camera, the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro.
The Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera (BPCC) series has a reputation for being able to easily shoot cinema quality videos. The evolution of this Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro is the built-in 2, 4, 6-stop electric ND filters. This makes it possible to shoot in a variety of environments with the camera alone, from outdoors in direct sunlight to dark places.
A high-brightness HDR touch screen of 5 inches / 1500 nits is used on the back. This can be tilted, improving the flexibility of shooting. It also supports a large capacity NP-F570 type battery. As an option, you can also install the electronic viewfinder “Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera Pro EVF”.
As a basic spec, it is equipped with a 6K resolution Super 35 HDR image sensor. It supports a dynamic range of 13 stops and dual native ISO up to 25,600. This allows you to shoot at full resolution up to 60fps and at 120fps in the window. The lens system is compatible with Canon EF lens mounts. Also, like the previous model, “DaVinci Resolve Studio”, a professional video editing software, is included.
The overseas price of the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro is $ 2,495 (about 260,000 yen). It seems that it will be an indispensable one to play an active part in shooting video contents that are in increasing demand.
