This app sounds like it was made for German “amateur police officers”: the parking space monitoring app “Park-Collect”. You can use it to blacken parking offenders and even get up to 40 euros for it.
Owners of parking spaces can log in to the app and then document and report violations in the private parking lot. The app then forwards the data to a legal service provider who determines the vehicle owner. Then it usually becomes expensive.
BILD recently reported on a case from Bad Homburg. Several customers parked there in front of a bakery. The owner of the garage, in front of which the customers parked, reported the “parking offenders” with the app and collected a lot of money.
The unsuspecting bakery customers received bills of up to 150 euros – for a few minutes to get bread. As a “reimbursement of expenses”, 50 euros go to the parking attendant. The app is controversial, but legal according to a lawyer. Because anyone who is parked is theoretically allowed to defend themselves. +++
