‘Black Widow’ made crazy money on Disney+ and is doing poorly at the box office

There’s a lot to do around the Marvel movie release Black Widow. Disney as an actress Scarlett Johansson are still very much in dispute. In the meantime, Disney has a small party to celebrate around the film.

Disney has announced that the film has already grossed 125 million dollars on the Disney+ streaming service. This means that the film was bought early by about 4.1 million viewers via VIP access. If you factor in the earnings via Disney+, the film will arrive at a box office of almost half a billion.

Not recovered
The global box office has clearly not yet recovered from the setbacks of the corona virus. In any case, Marvel Studios has been eager to finally release the film for some time, especially now that Phase 4 is in full swing with four series already on Disney+.

Not too long before the theatrical release of Black Widow It was already announced that the film would be shown in the Netherlands via VIP access on Disney+. In the Netherlands you pay 21.99 euros for the film and in the United States about 30 dollars.

So that has yielded quite a large yield, and it could easily be the most successful film release on streaming service Disney+. At the same time, it is also one of the worst-earning MCU films to date.

Marvel boss Kevin Feige already said that his films will not get a hybrid release, but the question is whether he will keep that promise. The exclusive cinema release of Eternals is still uncertain, for example. And Shang-Chi will run exclusively in cinemas, but will arrive on streaming services 45 days later.
