‘Black act’ of Allahabad University professor, raped student, took her to room and forcibly had physical relations

Prayagraj. A student of Allahabad University has accused an assistant professor of the ancient history department of sexual harassment. The student lodged an FIR in the matter at Colonelganj police station in the city on Sunday.

ACP Colonelganj Rajeev Kumar Yadav said that the third year BA student alleges that teacher Ajay Sagar had made her a love proposal which she refused. Despite this the teacher used to call and message him.

According to the FIR, on the evening of January 15, 2024, the teacher called the student to Luvkush Park in Mumfordganj by threatening her to commit suicide and from there took her to his room and forcefully had physical relations with her. The student alleges that while returning home, the teacher threatened her not to tell anyone about this.

Rajiv Kumar Yadav said that an FIR has been registered against the teacher under sections 376 (punishment for sexual harassment) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code and the matter is being investigated further.
