Testing and vaccinations are key tools to prevent further hard lockdowns
Linz (OTS) – “We thank everyone who is helping to defeat Corona disease. It is an enormous effort and partly under very challenging conditions ”, emphasized Federal Chancellor Sebastian Kurz and Governor Thomas Stelzer this Friday afternoon as part of a visit to a“ PCR drive-in test street ”in Ansfelden, Upper Austria (Linz-Land district).
In total, the test offer in Upper Austria with a total of 100 locations (75 fixed locations and 25 mobile teams) and three test buses amounts to more than 40,000 tests per day. So far, 3,088,413 antigen tests and 634,877 PCR tests have been carried out in Upper Austria.
“The tests enable us to control the infection process as best we can. The tests in companies, pharmacies or test streets and the school and living room tests offer a wide range of products that is unparalleled anywhere in the world. The step towards normality will come with the vaccination, but the Green Pass will also give those who have been tested the opportunity to regain more freedom for a certain period of time. The basis for this has been created with the wide range of tests. That would not be possible without the commitment of the federal states and the thousands of helpers, ”said Federal Chancellor Sebastian Kurz.
“Tests and vaccinations are the central instruments to prevent another hard lockdown. And that is extremely important, because a lockdown is like a drug, with extremely strong side effects, especially for the job market, ”emphasizes LH Stelzer.
