Here is the centre-back that BK Häcken is trying to sign.
According to Sportbladet’s information, the club has Hamburg’s Stephan Ambrosius high on the list of possible new acquisitions.
BK Häcken confirmed today that they sold Momodou Sonko to Gent in a record deal for the club.
According to information in Belgium and to Fabrizio Romano, the transfer is worth SEK 80 million, and Häcken also confirms that it is a record transfer for the Allsvenskan club.
– First of all, I am very happy for Momo. We have had a clear plan that all parties – from the player’s and the club’s side – have been part of.
– To now be able to present a historic sale for the club and a nice next step for Momo feels like a receipt that we have succeeded, said sports director Martin Ericsson to the club’s official website during the day.

Have three different options that they choose from
According to Sportbladet’s information, the club’s main track is now to bring in a new centre-back, where they choose between three different players.
It is partly about Hamburg’s centre-back Stephan Ambrosius, 25. The centre-back from Ghana, who also has a German passport, has played one match in the Bundesliga and 43 matches for Hamburg in the Zweite Bundesliga.
His contract with the club expires this summer, so he will not be particularly expensive in terms of transfer fee. However, he is said to demand a substantial sign-on bonus and salary as he can sign for free for a new club in June. And he plays regularly for Hamburg, who are fighting for promotion to the Bundesliga, which could make a deal more difficult.
Hope to recruit from Hamburg shortly
If that deal does not go through, Häcken has two other centre-back options that they are looking at.
Including Aiham Ousou who played in the club last year and came on loan from Slavia Prague. As well as another, unnamed, option that the club from Hisingen is considering.
It remains to be seen which centre-back Häcken recruits, but it is clear in any case that Stephan Amborsius is high on the list of possible new acquisitions for the coming season.
