The BJP has called a bandh from 6 am to 6 pm today in West Bengal to protest against police firing water cannons and tear gas on protesters during a march to the state secretariat Nabana in connection with the rape and murder of a 31-year-old. an old doctor in Kolkata.

The government has announced that all government offices will remain open and that everyone except those taking leave or remaining on leave should report for duty, if the measures are not taken.
