The fire service is on site in Schønings gate on Majorstuen in central Oslo. A large birch tree has blown over and hit five cars. There are no injuries, tweets the 110 exchange in Oslo.
– We were first notified that a birch had fallen on a power pole and across the road. It turns out to be a large birch tree that has fallen on top of five cars, says duty commander Rune Elstad to VG.
– What is the extent of the damage to the cars?
– It is difficult to say as the tree is still over the cars. The fire brigade will now cut it into pieces with a chainsaw.
– Were there people nearby when it fell?
– We have not been notified that there was any danger to people, says Elstad.
