Municipal authorities participate in the start of the Mini Olympics 2024 “Heroes for fun and peace”
Cancún, QR, November 22, 2024.- Within the framework of the 18th anniversary of the founding of Technical High School #28 “Niños Héroes de Chapultepec”, the 2024 Mini Olympics “Heroes for Sport and Peace” were held, with the aim of ‘ promotion of healthy coexistence among students, parents and teachers of the educational center, in the Dome of the Sports Unit “Toro Valenzuela”.
Representing the President of the City, Ana Paty Peralta, head of events organization of the events unit of the Office of the Mayor, Fernando Peralta Rivera, pointed out that this government works closely with young people, to ensure that the everyone has the same opportunities to train, compete and succeed in this sport, because it is not only the physical effort and the competitive spirit that can be seen, but also the unity, development and values that define society.
For her part, the director of the educational facility, Ingrid Imelda Mejía Cu, thanked the President of the City for always betting on healthy lifestyles and a culture of peace, ensuring that the school also always seeking excellence with a humanitarian approach among students. .
Before the mini-Olympics began, the flag was honored, with the participation of the school guardian and the Music Band of the City Hall who led the singing of the national anthems of Mexico and Quintana Roo. While 3rd B students, Xóchitl Consospost Hernández and Zacnicte Olivares Sosa took the oath to the flag and took the protest oath of the students, respectively.
Also, the official mascot of the school “Royal Eagle 28” was presented, which joined the athletes in subjects: basketball, volleyball, discus throw, shot put, 75-meter distance, 4 x 75 meter relay, athletics and 100 meter dash.
Afterwards, the traditional symbolic lighting of the Olympic flame (made of cardboard) was done by Councilor Marcos Basilio Saldívar, president of the Commission for Social Development, Citizen Participation and Human Rights, who the flame took to Xóchitl Consospost Hernández , who made the Olympic Rod around the dome area until it reached the cauldron.
The person in charge of the Basic Education area was present at the sports event in the northern region of Quintana Roo, Mario Praxedes Cauich Pat; director of Crime Prevention, Zury Rodríguez Trinidad; the president of the Social Participation of the educational center, María Guadalupe Ake Martínez; the director of the Urban Youth Institute, Santiago Frías Canché and the supervisor of technical high schools, Juan Alberto Salazar Rosado.
