In Israel there is a strange ban, which at first glance seems wild. The Jews took up arms against a harmless berry, which the rest of the world was absolutely delighted with.
You will not find either fresh or frozen raspberries on the shelves of Jewish stores. There are no jams or preserves made from it either. The berry was strictly forbidden to be sold and declared non-kosher.
Jewish laws do not allow eating insects, but a logical question immediately arises – what does raspberries have to do with it? The fact is that all kinds of bugs and spiders often hide in this berry, so they can be accidentally swallowed.
To be completely sure of the safety of the berry, it must be completely opened and thoroughly checked. As a result, the marketability is lost, so the authorities came to the conclusion that it would be easier to ban raspberries. But you can buy products with processed berries. For example, raspberry desserts, yoghurts and ice cream are on sale.
