(ac) Tolmezzo Basketball suffers a bitter home defeat against Danieli Buttrio, losing with a score of 44-47 in the third day of the men’s Regional Division 2 championship.
A subdued performance, characterized by nervousness and imprecision, nullified the Carnians’ initial advantage. The match was largely balanced, with Tolmezzo often taking command of the operations. However, towards the end of the match Buttrio was able to make the most of the opportunities given by his opponents, sealing the victory with a difficult three-point shot by Guastaferro. A few seconds before the final siren, a controversial refereeing decision set things ablaze, when an attacking foul called on Matteo Cimenti prevented Tolmezzo from equalizing the match and having the opportunity to win with free throws.
Tolmezzo will look for redemption on Friday 8 November, at 9pm, on the difficult CUS Udine pitch in via delle Scienze 100.
