In front of 813 spectators, EHC Chur pays the hard way against efficient GCK Lions. The Zurich team were successful with their first two shots on goal and took a 2-0 lead until the 7th minute. First Robin Leone scores, 2:11 minutes later Jan Schwendeler effortlessly completes a nice combination. After this double blow, the Chur team have to recover, but they still finish the third solidly.
In the second section, the Graubünden team fell apart after Yann Voegeli made it 3-0. Almost every shot from the Lions is in and they are already leading 6-0 after 36 minutes.
In the third period, both teams have an interest in the game being over as quickly as possible. Seven seconds before the final siren, Josselin Dufey at least ensured a small display on the Chur side. He scored the consolation goal to make it 1:7.
The three best
Robin Leone: The NLA-experienced striker (almost 400 appearances for Kloten and Lausanne) gave the Lions the lead in the 5th minute and played the exemplary pass to make it 2-0 in the 7th minute.
Daniil Ustinkov: The 18-year-old showed his great talent in the 29th minute and scored the goal of the evening with an individual effort.
Sascha Ruppelt: It’s not that the GCK goalie isn’t busy, on the contrary. Chur had significantly more shots until the half of the game, but Ruppelt defused them all. In the end he was seven seconds short of a shutout.
EHC Chur continues on Sunday. But not in the Swiss League, but in the National Cup competition, in which the clubs from the second highest division take part.
