Bitter Battle of Neighbors: Margarita Mikhneva’s Turmoil on Oborishte Street

Margarita Mikhneva’s life on the capital’s legendary Oborishte Street has turned into a battlefield. For several months now, the journalist has been fighting a bitter war between neighbors, which escalated at the beginning of the month. A few days ago, the garage to the apartment of the former BNT star was brutally broken into. She, of course, immediately reported the act of vandalism to the police. A team arrived at the scene, collected evidence and would conduct an investigation to establish the identity of the perpetrator. Margarita, however, lost 3,000 BGN in addition to unnecessary nerves in order to re-install a door of the same luxury class, writes “Retro” newspaper.

The journalist assumed that it could also be about revenge, since in recent months she entered into a confrontation with more than one of her neighbors. The reason for one of the rumors was a private kindergarten in the immediate vicinity of Mikhneva’s home, and she could not stand the noise. She reported to the relevant authorities and the municipality, after which the garden was closed. However, her opponents united against her and even went to collect signatures. Thus, the former presenter from BNT incurred their wrath.

This is by no means the first time Mikhneva has waged a war between neighbors. Years ago, she had a bitter dispute with the late singer Ahinora Kumanova, famous by her pseudonym Nora Nova, with whom she lived in the same cooperative on the prestigious Oborishte Street. Their dispute even reached national airwaves after the intervention of Luba Kulesič and her show “Honestly speaking”, and the reason for it was domestic again – the two aristocratic neighbors argued over who should park in the backyard of the cooperative. The singer died in February 2022, and immediately after her death there was talk that there was no one to inherit her cheap apartment, since she had no family and children.

Now Mikhneva was experiencing even greater horror with the new inhabitants of Nora’s apartment, as they were an unbridled and crowded Roma family. Asked if their placement was arbitrary, the author of countless reports investigating real estate mafia deals, specified that she had checked the documentation and the aliens’ ownership had been clarified. They got the apartment after a few twists and turns. The strange thing is that, according to her observations, these people did not have the financial means to pay for an apartment worth at least 1 million leva, judging by their rickety car and old clothes.

Mikhneva was outraged by the atrocities in their elite cooperative and seriously considered whether to continue living there or to announce her apartment for sale. If it were up to her, she would immediately immigrate permanently to Switzerland with her daughter Neda, but the doctors did not recommend it. We remind you that not long ago she went through heavy operations after a diagnosis of bone cancer, from which she is still recovering. Years ago, Mikhneva overcame an oncological diagnosis of the breast.
