Bitpanda hires Irina Nicoleta Scarlat, from Revolut, as first Chief Growth Officer

PARIS, July 6, 2021 / PRNewswire / – bitpanda, European digital investment platform and Austria’s first unicorn, has appointed Irina Nicoleta Scarlat as its first Chief Growth Officer (CGO), with immediate effect.

In this newly created executive-level role, Irina will take charge of Bitpanda’s business development and marketing teams, overseeing and driving the company’s expansion plans. She will lead the overall growth strategy of the company, combining the expertise of multiple teams and countries to uncover new opportunities and continue to rapidly expand Bitpanda’s presence globally.

Irina will bring more than ten years of experience in the tech industry to Bitpanda. After joining Revolut in 2018 as Global Head of Growth, she led the growth of the Romanian market from 20,000 to almost 1.5 million users. She then built Revolut’s growth engine, led the growth teams in Europe Central and Eastern and, later, the global growth service, shaping the growth path of Revolut, which has grown from 1 million to 15 million users worldwide.

Before joining Revolut, Irina created and managed the marketing function of Uber in Romania. She defined the company’s local strategy and launched key regional projects and initiatives that grew the market to 1 million users and extended local operations to three cities.
