The price of Bitcoin fell below the $40,000 mark again, being quoted on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, just below $39,000, according to data from Coinmarketcap. Other popular assets among Romanian crypto holders, Ethereum, Cardano or XRP, as well as Romanians’ cryptocurrency from MultiversX, eGold, had a similar trajectory.
BTC fell, on Tuesday, to $38,515, around 16.30, after which it increased a little more. Basically, in less than two weeks, the crypto leader has lost more than 20% of the value reached on January 11, 2024, when it crossed $48,000 amid the excitement generated by decision of the US Exchange Regulatory Authority to approve the first ETF investment funds for Bitcoin, a move considered historic for the crypto market.
On Tuesday, at press time, the price of Bitcoin was $38,641.
Ethereum it also fell as low as $2,177 at one point on Tuesday. The price of ETH has lost 19.5% from the peak it reached on January 12, 2024, after the US decision on ETH Bitcoin investment funds.
In turn, EGLD, the cryptocurrency of the Romanians de le MultiversX, fell below the 50 dollar threshold as early as January 8, 2024, and on Tuesday, January 23, it was quoted at 46 dollars and 36 cents, at the time of the news transmission. Thus, EGLD lost 22% of its value compared to the level reached on January 11, 2024, when the entire crypto market was boosted by the decision of the American authority.
The fall of MultiversX’s Sibian cryptocurrency looks even steeper if you look at its evolution over a whole month. Basically, from the Christmas price of $77.29, EGLD is down 40% in less than a month.
Cardanoa popular cryptocurrency among Romanians who trade on the crypto market, was quoted on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, around 45 cents.
