The BitBay cryptocurrency exchange, whose backstage activities were described in the report of the “Supervisor”, corresponds to the TVN team and demands from it “very large compensation”.

On June 27, Michał Fuji and Patryk Szczepaniak published a report on the operation of the Polish BitBay cryptocurrency exchange and attempts to bribe journalists for abandoning the material (the amount of PLN 1 million was to be involved). The creators of the report tried to get the answer to the question of who is behind the BitBay exchange and what its ownership structure looks like. The content of the report can be found on the TVN website.

The stock exchange itself and its president Sylwester Suszek took a position on the report. BitBay accuses journalists of organizing a provocation aimed at its image.

– As a consequence, it was to lead to the collapse or takeover of the company by another entity. Thanks to the company’s protective activities implemented in the area of security of its business environment, undeniable facts have been established, confirmed by witness statements, indicating the collection of false materials by TVN Supervisor – we read in a statement.

According to Sylwester Suszek, “the author of the material used a person he knew to stage the handing over of financial benefits to Michał Fuji by a person allegedly associated with the BitBay exchange”. This person was to admit his participation in the provocation and declare his desire to become a witness in the case against TVN.

– We will demand very much compensation from the authors of the report and the television station. All the compensation obtained will be allocated to support the activities of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity – concludes BitBay.

Founded in 2014, BitBay in Katowice is the largest cryptocurrency exchange in Poland. In May 2018, the company moved its headquarters to Malta due to more favorable legal conditions for the cryptocurrency industry. Also in 2018, BitBay was added to the list of warnings of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority, which it still has in connection with the allegation of unauthorized business in the provision of payment services.
