Bissendorf Companies Highly Satisfied with Business Location, IHK Survey Shows

(PM) The companies in the municipality of Bissendorf are for the most part satisfied with their location. This is proven by the current “IHK location survey 2023”. The IHK Osnabrück-Emsland-Grafschaft Bentheim wrote to all companies in the chamber district and asked for a statement. The indicators are summarized in five groups: infrastructure, location costs, labor supply, economic climate and location attractiveness. In addition, an overall assessment of the location was also requested.

The results are not only prepared for the IHK district as a whole, the city of Osnabrück, the three districts and the seven medium-sized centers, but also for the primary centers, for which there are more than 30 answers. 46 companies from Bissendorf took part in the survey.

And the result is impressive: 13.8 percent of the companies are “very satisfied” with their location, while another 75.9 percent said they were “satisfied” with Bissendorf as a business location in the survey. This puts the community in the IHK district well above average (10.7 percent “very satisfied,” 72.8 percent “satisfied”). The entrepreneurs’ satisfaction is also reflected in the question of whether they would recommend Bissendorf as a location to colleagues. 28.6 percent would “definitely” do it (average: 15.9 percent) and 50 percent would “probably” do it (average: 58 percent). A good 78 percent of entrepreneurs are of the opinion that Bissendorf offers a good environment for business. The companies are particularly satisfied with the accessibility of Bissendorf via national roads. The direct access to two motorways and the proximity to the A1 impress the economy. But the connection to air traffic is also rated above average. The image of the community also has a positive effect. Many entrepreneurs are likely to be hoping to attract more skilled workers to the region.

“We are very pleased about the positive response from business,” said Mayor Guido Halfter. The administration will continue to be an efficient contact for companies in the region. “We see ourselves as a business-oriented community,” Halfter clarified, referring to the new “Natberger Feld” commercial area, where construction work for the first companies will begin shortly.

With the location survey, the IHK Osnabrück-Emsland-Bad Bentheim follows up on the surveys and evaluations carried out in 2004, 2013 and 2018. This makes it clear that the demands of the economy on its locations are increasing – this applies not only to Germany as a whole, but also on a small scale. All locations are competing to attract new companies, want to at least retain or – better yet – attract skilled workers and ultimately produce innovations that guarantee secure jobs.
