“Bison Fute: Heavy Traffic Expected for Spring Holiday Travel in France and Europe”

The A31 with the departure of the holidays from Zone B for Nancy-Metz and the return of German and Belgian tourists will be a very busy axis. Caution also this Saturday on the A6 in both directions of traffic.

For area A, it’s the second week of the spring holidays with departures for the academies of Besançon, Bordeaux, Clermont-Ferrand, Dijon, Grenoble, Limoges, Lyon and Poitiers. It is also a return weekend for those who have taken a week off.

For area B, it’s a departure for the academies of Aix-Marseille, Amiens, Caen, Lille, Nancy-Metz Caen, Nantes, Nice, Orleans-Tours, Reims, Rennes, Rouen and Strasbourg.

Many European countries are ending their Easter holidays such as Germany, Belgium, Great Britain, Switzerland and Sweden.

Friday April 14 : The first difficulties are expected in the afternoon in the direction of departures on the A31 with tourists from Nancy-Metz-Caen. The A6 towards Lyon, and the A39 from Dijon towards Bourg-en-Bresse will also be very busy.

Saturday April 15 : The traffic will be dense in the direction of returns on the A39 from Bourg-en-Bresse in the direction of Dijon then on the A31 towards the East of France. The A6 from and to Lyon will also experience heavy traffic for much of the day in both directions.

Sunday April 16, the day promises to be fluid on the motorways of most of France and in particular in the crossing of Burgundy Franche-Comté.

If you have to drive only in Bourgogne Franche-Comté this Saturday April 15, it is advisable to avoid the A6, A31 and A39 motorways and to favor the secondary network of Côte-d’Or and Saône-et-Loire.

Zone B, from Saturday 15 April to Monday 1 May. Academies of Aix-Marseille, Amiens, Caen, Lille, Nancy-Metz Caen, Nantes, Nice, Orléans-Tours, Reims, Rennes, Rouen and Strasbourg.

Zone C, from Saturday 22 April to Monday 8 May. Academies of Créteil, Montpellier, Paris, Toulouse, Versailles.
