Thalassery: After the meeting with BJP leaders, Thalassery Archbishop Mar Joseph Pamplani said that he would help the BJP in the Lok Sabha elections if the price of rubber is announced at Rs 300. BJP District President N. Haridas and Minority Morcha leaders held discussions with the bishop. After the controversial statement of the bishop came out, the BJP leaders themselves released the pictures clarifying the details of the meeting.
Bishop’s response that he would help BJP in the Lok Sabha elections came at a farmer’s rally held in Alakode. Minority Morcha District President Arun Thomas, State Co-ordinator Dr. Anoop Thomas and A One Jose visited the Bishop. It is reported that the bishop has brought the concerns of the migrant population to the BJP leaders. They will support any government that stands for the farmer. BJP leaders say that the bishop has made it clear that he will stand regardless of politics.
Meanwhile, with the Paramarsh controversy, Pamplani responded to the media that the BJP is the ruling party of the country and should not be seen as a mere gang that attacks churches. I do not intend to change even an iota from what was said. He said that the workers of the minority cell had arrived last week in connection with the conference being held in Kannur under the leadership of the Central Minority Department.
