FORNEBU (VG) Saturday night is set for the premiere of the sixth season of “Skal vi danse”.

Twelve nervous and excited celebrities were to go out on the dance floor on Saturday with the TV cameras turned on for the first time.

There was great excitement associated with, among others, athlete Birgit Skarstein (31), who is the first participant in “Skal vi danse” who is in a wheelchair.

Before the participants came on the floor, judge Trine Deli Kleve said that they would judge Skarstein on an equal footing with the other participants.

Together with their dance partner Philip Raabe (20), they ended the dance show to standing ovations.

– My goal tonight was to put the discussion to what extent one can dance in a wheelchair dead once and for all. And I feel that we achieved that, says Birgit to VG after the broadcast.

Of the judges, they got 28 points for their waltz, and thus got the evening’s highest score.

– To all those at home who have asked how this can go, now you see it, said judge Trine Dehli Cleve.

– Remember nothing

First out on the stage was host Marte Bratberg, known from “Kompani Laurtizen”.

– I do not remember anything, I just remember that I go against the judges, Marte says to VG.

She says she was told late Friday night that she was going to open the show, and that she was not mentally prepared for it.

– It has been a roller coaster of emotions, and suddenly it was over, she says.

She was praised by the judges for her charisma, and received a total of 24 points.

Ski legend Thomas Alsgaard (48) impressed a lot during his first dance on the dance floor together with dance partner Rikke Lund (25).

VG has previously mentioned that he has been “terrified” and feared blackout. After the performance of his jive, Alsgaard says that he is very pleased with the evening’s performance.

– Yesterday on trial recording, the fear completely took over. I was very down yesterday, it was heavy and not so fun, he says to VG.

Despite the defeat on Friday, he managed to enjoy himself during Saturday’s premiere.
– The first week it felt impossible, Now I’m already looking forward to dancing tomorrow.

Alsgaard impressed the judges, but ended up with 17 points.

Radio profile and comedian Siri Kristiansen (42) danced in her own wedding dress during the premiere, and the judges were impressed by her footwork.

– I think it is magical and great to be part of a young man teaching a potato sack to dance, Kristiansen said with a laugh.

Together with dance partner Tarjei Svalastog (22), they received 18 points for their bridal waltz.

Rejects the romance rumors

Nathan Kahungu (23) impressed on the dance floor with his partner Helene Spilling (24).

– It was incredibly fun. I enjoyed myself and Helene enjoyed herself, he says to VG in the car on the way home from the premiere.

Kahungu was praised by the judges for his rhythm, but criticized for lack of chemistry with his partner on the dance floor.

– It is a bit ironic considering the romance rumors on the outside, he says.

Kahungu, on the other hand, denies that he and Spilling have a romantic relationship.

– Now it will continue to work with it, today we focused only on what I was good at, he says.

Kahungu and Spilling got 27 points for their salsa.

Youtuber Agnete «Agnetesh» Husebye (24) danced to her favorite artist Ravi, danced with dance partner Bjørn Wettre Holthe (39).

– Hooray for real fantastic dancing joy and empathy, said judge Merete Lingjærde.

The judges were impressed with her enthusiasm on the dance floor, and they received a total of 17 points.

TV 2 and the production company Nordisk Film have taken a number of steps to ensure that neither participants nor staff on the set are infected with the coronavirus.

One of the measures is to move the broadcast from Nydalen to a twice as large studio at Fornebu. Shall we dance »will again this year take place with the audience – according to current infection control rules which currently say a maximum of 200 spectators.

TV 2 has also confirmed that it could be a brutal dance fate for the participants if they were to be affected by the virus.
