Due to the absence of the well-known Burgtheater actress Caroline Peters due to illness, the Kultur.LEBEN event program on Saturday. 7 January, 19:30, Bludenz deposit.

Well-known stage and screen actress Birgit Minichmayr, who was originally going to be a guest together with Caroline Peters at the reading from Ingeborg Bachmann’s “The Secrets of the Princess of Kagran”, will now read from Dorothy Parker’s “New York Stories”.

Dorothy Parker has written for Vogue, Vanity Fair and the New Yorker. She was the queen of New York in the Roaring Twenties. Her pointed tales and poems are among the most important of their time and to this day have lost none of their brilliant sharp tongues: What does the diary of a New York lady reveal? How can you be bored to death in a fancy wedding? Dorothy Parker shines in each of her “New York stories”, funny, sarcastic, articulate.

Birgit Minichmayr, one of the best and most expressive actresses of her generation, reads from “New York Stories”, a collection of short stories by Dorothy Parker. Already during her studies she was busy at the Burgtheater in Vienna. She plays on the big stages in Vienna, Berlin and Salzburg, as well as in television and cinema films (for example in Tom Tykwer’s “Perfume”). Most recently, the award-winning Nestroy Theater appeared in Romy Schneider’s film ‘Three Days in Quiberon’, for which she was awarded the German Film Prize. Birgit Minichmayr has been a permanent member of the ensemble at the Burgtheater in Vienna since the 2019/20 season
