Bird flu is raging in Algeria: the state launches its response… And Tunisia

It would appear that Algeria is plagued by several outbreaks of bird flu on farms across the country. This prompted the Ministry of Agriculture to take the lead, ordering more than 20 million doses of vaccine to immunize livestock against this disease and avoid carnage.

Algeria has therefore decided to take the bull by the horns and undertake the response, while in Tunisia we seem to be completely unaware of the risk that exists at our borders, knowing that this virus does not stop at all borders, and that the Tunisia is a country much more at risk from bird flu, given that the disease is carried by migratory birds, whose main flight corridor from Europe to Africa passes through Tunisia rather than Algeria.

So, to sum up the situation, the virus is raging in Europe where it has decimated several poultry farms, and apparently it is raging in Algeria, where we are taking the necessary measures, while in Tunisia we are, par miracle, or by the pseudo-divine intervention of our marabouts, safe from this virus which would have made the decision to hoe Tunisia to attack our neighbors.

This demonstrates the competence and responsiveness of our administration in managing all risks.

We could, at best, understand that our country lacks the means to prevent avian flu. However, these means should be given because the sovereignty of the State and the food security of its citizens are at stake. And, moreover, the prevention of this disease does not necessarily and only depend on the purchase of millions of doses of vaccines. It begins with good information and awareness among professionals, and the implementation of simple and free prevention measures.

And then, our administration should assume the dimension of such a threat that it risks decimating a flock already damaged by a precisely calamitous management on the part of our officials, with the risk of starving the people.
