BioWare studio has decided to abandon the open world in the next part of Mass Effect. This was mentioned by journalist and insider Jez Corden on The Xbox Two podcast on YouTube.
According to rumors, BioWare chose to return to the classic format that it used in the original Mass Effect trilogy. Previously, the studio had already experimented with open-world elements in Mass Effect: Andromeda – the fourth part of the franchise was criticized by fans, including for its locations.
Development of the fifth part of Mass Effect started in 2022. BioWare has not yet revealed details about the future title, but released a small teaser for the next game.
