Bioware and EA are not involved in the remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

KOTOR takes place in a galaxy long far away from EA.

During Playstation’s latest Showcase, they showed a teaser (to everyone’s surprise) on an upcoming remake of the classic role-playing game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. However, the announcement has created some questions about the project. EA was behind the original and it was also exclusive to the Xbox. The remake, on the other hand, will be console-exclusive on Playstation and it is the developers Aspyr who are behind the refurbishment. Geoff Keighly asked EA on twitter if they were involved in the project, the answer was:

Now this is a typical so-called “non-answer”, but if they were involved in the remake, there is no reason why they should be unclear about this.

No release date has been set for the game, but considering that we only got to see a teaser, the game will probably take a while longer. The game was announced as console-exclusive for PS5, but Lucasfilm has confirmed that the game will also be released for PC. It would also not be completely unbelievable if the game was released to other consoles at a later time.
