Bioshock rumors claim that the series’ next game is set for …

Two years later the announcement of a new feature in the Bioshock series, we still know very little about the upcoming game. However, a new report claims to know both the setting and the time period the game will take place in.

Bioshock Infinite from 2013 is currently the last game in the series.

The recent rumors about Bioshock 4 – which does not yet have an official name – come from game journalist Colin Moriarty. In a new episode of podcasten Sacred Symbols (via the website VGC) Moriarty said that the action is set in the 60s, in a fictional city in Antarctica.

It takes place in the 1960s, in a city in Antarctica called Borealis. The game has the code name Parkside, and I have heard that the development team has been given an incredible amount of space to make sure they do a good job.

According to Moriarty, everything is still very secretive at the Cloud Chamber studio, which is responsible for the development. The thinking among the developers is also that their Bioshock game will be compared to the next from Bioshock creator Ken Levine – who is working on a new game in a new studio.

The rumors are in line with what VGC’s own sources have said. Eurogamer has also been in contact with people with knowledge of the situation, who report the same.

Of other Bioshock rumors, a job advertisement appeared at Cloud Chamber this spring, which seemed to suggest that the next game get a more open world than its predecessors. Publisher 2K has not commented on any of the rumors surrounding the game, so so far we have to take everything with a pinch of salt.
