From the first day of classes, next February 5, the biosafety protocol will be applied to prevent respiratory infections, such as covid-19, in educational units, which includes the mandatory use of a mask and social distancing, among other measures. .
11 days before the start of school activities, the Ministers of Education, Edgar Pary, and Health, María Renée Castro, presented the biosafety protocol.
“The use of the mask should be mandatory, because they are educational units with a large concentration of girls, boys, young people and young women. They are between 300, 400 and 500 students, explained Pary.
He urged parents and mayoral authorities to replicate biosafety measures in their homes and guarantee good conditions in educational units, respectively.
“Particularly basic services, water and hygienic services are so important,” Pary reiterated.
Minister Castro, for her part, explained that the provisions of the protocol must be applied as soon as an outbreak of respiratory infection occurs, which can be covid-19, influenza, syncytial virus, rhinovirus or any disease, even if it is bacterial.
Castro urged parents to take their children to health centers for immunization against covid-19 and other diseases in the regular schedule.
