Biomutant was supposed to be released back in 2018. And now, when the release date is known, the details of the project were told by the head of Experimental 101 Stefan Jangqvist.

A small team is working on the project – only 20 people. The quality assurance department had a lot of work to do as the action takes place in a large open world and the developers want to present a flawless game:
“This is a big game for 20 people. It was a huge job for the testing department because in the open world game it is not easy to find [ошибки]… And then, as soon as we find them, we have to fix them, and since we are a small team, this poses an additional challenge for us. “
Publisher THQ Nordic did not put pressure on Experimental 101, so the developers decided to significantly expand the product – now there are about 250,000 words in the game, and at the end of 2019 there were 85,000.
The authors worked without a crunch, since no one wanted layoffs due to hours of overtime work:
“We cannot afford [сотрудникам] leave the team or be destroyed during development. It would be awful. “

Jangqvist noted that some things can be accelerated, but the main thing is that people get paid for it, which is not the standard in the industry. The executive also confirmed that Biomutant will easily launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S thanks to backward compatibility, but the developers are not promoting these platforms – there was not even a mention of this in the latest press release. This is because the studio is focused on making the game perform best on the PlayStation.
Biomutant will be released on May 25, 2021 on PC, PS4, Xbox One and new consoles.
