The new insurance covers launched by Wallife, the insurtech founded by Fabio Sbianchi, inventor of the black box on cars, were presented in Milan. «We, pioneers in the markets of the future»
An insurance policy in the event of the sudden death of Fido and Micio is nothing new. But if the coverage also includes, optionally, the birth of an identical puppy with the same genetic heritage, in practice one cloningthen the question changes. The same goes for those who travel and want to protect themselves from unforeseen events in the country of arrival: nothing new. But what if there was insurance coverage instead pay-per-use mode based on artificial intelligence algorithms capable of identifying the risks involved in real time, as soon as the plane arrives at its destination? Unfortunately, the tragic and unexpected events in Valencia, an excellent tourist destination, show how much scenarios can change.
And what about the risks linked to our digital identityrather than the theft of biometric data for credit fraud? There are technological horizons that are considered very safe, but danger is always around the corner. And there are innovative practices, such as oocyte cryopreservation chosen by women who want to plan their motherhood, where there is no shortage of errors or unexpected events.
All this absolutely new scenario but of a future that is already happening is addressed, on the insurance level, by some policies launched on the market by Wallife and presented during an event (Wallife Edge 2025) which was recently held in Milan. The company is an insurtech focused precisely on the issues of technological innovation and the ability to address them. Not surprisingly Wallife was founded in 2021 by Fabio Sbianchithe Roman entrepreneur who has already invented, with Octo Telematics, the insurance meter for cars. «It took us three years then to establish ourselves on the market which was skeptical when faced with new products». But now the onboard black box model has become an international standard, adopted by many companies for millions of users.
A different insurtech
Today Wallife can count on a collection of 16 million euros from national investors through family offices and names such as Berlusconi (Luigi with Itacha)Alessandri (Nerio with Alfin), the Riello family (Ribox) as well as bankers such as Giuseppe Baldelli (Mediobanca), Pierfrancesco Saviotti, former CEO of Banco Popolare, Giacomo Sella, of Banca Sella. In short, the financial market believes in the insurtech that has launched the new policies, dictated by Sbianchi’s intuition: «Investigating the risks of innovations that could interfere with our daily activities represents an element that differentiates Wallife from other insurtechsas it combines research, technology and insurance, positioning itself as pioneers of little-explored markets but with enormous potential”.
Social networks and risks
Who signs Pet Lover is guaranteed until the traumatic death of the pet with three options: a reimbursement of expenses to purchase a new specimen, a contribution to the kennel or cattery or (here’s the news) a path of assisted procreation starting from the genetic heritage recovered from the animal within 48 from death, which will give birth to a clone, exactly like the Dolly the sheepedited by an English company active in the sector. Instead, the Traveler policy warns travelers in real time of the possible risks in the destination city: those who want sign up for the insurance in pay-per-use mode. Artificial intelligence plays a role here by quickly reading the contents of articles and social networks to detect and predict the degree of risk in an area.
Digital professionals
In the new catalog there are even more frontier covers such as Social Freezing for women who choose to cryopreserve their eggs, planning a motherhood. In addition to the high costs, the operation is not free from risks (technical errors, malfunctions) and this is where damage coverage comes into play. The latest three Wallife news are dedicated to the world of digital and traditional work. For the latter it comes Mobility managerthe coverage dedicated to company fleets which protects users from economic losses in the event of counterfeiting. Instead, Biometrics ID e Digital Pro they take care of our digital identities, thanks to proprietary technology that defends against fraudulent access and digital identity theft. In particular, the latest aims to protect half a million new Italian professionals active on the web: bloggers, content creators, professional gamers, influencers, streamers. For them, reputation and the possibility of accessing social media is a source of income.
