Binnington misses the rest of the series against Avalanche

St. Louis Blues goalkeeper Jordan Binnington miss the rest of the series against the Colorado Avalanche. This was announced by Blues coach Craig Berube on Sunday.

Binnington collided with Avalanche forward Nazem Kadri in the first period of match 3, was forced to leave the match and then did not return.

“We are not focusing on that right now,” said Berube. I do not even want to talk about it, because it does not change anything. We are focused on tomorrow’s match and to focus on that situation… to focus on Kadri, it does not help us as a team.

Kadri himself meant that he tried to reach the puck and that the Blues’ Swedish defender, Calle Rosén, was the one who made sure that he collided with Binnington:

– I saw that the puck was loose and I tried to poke it. Their back collided with me and pushed me into the goalkeeper. Had it not happened, I would not have collided with him. I was just trying to push the puck in.

To deal with the injury, the Blues have called Charlie Lindgren from the AHL, under emergency regulations. Ville Husso expected to start match 3.

– We look forward to seeing what Ville can do and we are just as confident with him between the posts as with ‘Binner’ there, said Brayden Schenn.

– We just have to play well in front of them.

Match 3 between Avalanche and Blues kicks off the night before Tuesday, Swedish time, starting at 03.30 (Viaplay).
