The head of the popular Binance exchange, Changpeng Zhao, said his company would provide 10 million yuan (about $ 1.5 million) to help victims of the coronavirus outbreak in China.

“It is unrealistic to transfer cryptocurrency to final recipients in Wuhan. Binance provided 10 million yuan ($ 1.5 million) to help victims of coronavirus. We have not made any statements. Nevertheless, the Binance charity foundation team has been actively working over the past few days. We still need help organizing local logistics. ”Zhao wrote in response to a call from Sino Global Capital CEO Matthew Graham.
Later, Changpeng Zhao announced that his team works with several large companies from the fields of logistics and e-commerce. In particular, Binance ordered an additional 70,000 medical masks from different countries.

Zhao previously wrote that Binance only managed to buy 8,000 masks, as they were all sold out in China, Japan, and the surrounding regions.
The head of Binance also said that he underwent surgery to remove a hernia of the intervertebral disc, due to which his trip to Vietnam ended in December.

“Basically, I have been in this position for the past six days.”Zhao commented on the photo attached to the tweet.
He added that health was already much better.
Lesser-known crypto industry companies also participate in charity. For example, Krypital is developing a blockchain system that accepts donations in the stablecoin Tether (USDT) and Ethereum.
