BIME 2023: Navarra Music Commission Announces Exciting Activities and Showcases Local Artists

Pamplona

The music office of the regional Government, Navarra Music Commission (NMC), is participating these days in the Bilbao International Music Experience (PLANTS) with its own stand in which it has announced the activity carried out in 2023. BIME is the main reference meeting for the country’s and foreign music industry. Within the framework of the fair, the activity aimed at the professional public BIME PRO – which this year expects to bring together 4,500 professionals from the sector from more than 50 countries – includes an extensive program around networking, presentations, master classes and workshops at the Euskalduna Palace from Bilbao. A good opportunity, according to the coordinator of the Navarrese Commission, Fernando Garayoa, so that “the promoters and festivals can see the Navarrese artists and help them grow. The stand will allow the work of both the office and the artists to be promoted outside our Community. groups and professionals, festivals, recording studios… in short, the total number of agents involved in the development of the music industry in Navarra.”

This year, with the help of the NMC, the Navarrese artists Diphda, Olaia Inziarte and Razkin come to BIME, where they are establishing meetings with different agents in the sector and offering live performances.

Activity of the Navarra Music Commission in 2023

Along with the advisory and training activities, the participation of the NMC stands out, with the presence of 27 selected artists, in seven international fairs and festivals that have taken place in Spain, Colombia and the Netherlands.

The Navarra Music Commission is a public office that, under the format of a single window, aims to promote the music industry of the Foral Community with three main lines of work: training, advice and promotion. Throughout 2023, it has offered 175 advisory appointments and has a total of 574 artists and groups registered in the Navarra Live Music! atlas. Along with all this, the office has attended more than 50 legal queries made through the agreement with ‘Sympathy for the Lawyer’ (a leading legal firm in the music industry) and has an agreement with the SGAE so that this company can offer in-person care at Baluarte.

Upcoming events

After BIME and under the organization of the NMC, next November the Horma electronic music days will take place, which will feature performances by artists from the electronic scene such as DJ Falcon, Terr or Fantastic Twins. In addition, conferences and round tables will be held in relation to this musical style. Horma will travel to schools to bring electronic music to schoolchildren through different educational and interactive sessions.

In the first quarter of 2024, the third edition of the Navarra Music Pro training days will be held, in which training workshops will be held that, as a novelty, will take place on Saturday mornings to facilitate attendance for artists from all over Navarra.

Furthermore, next year, to the 14 calls open so far, one more will be added whose purpose will be to promote folk groups. This call arises from the agreement with the Fira Mediterrania of Manresa in which Navarra will have the participation of a local group.
