Bimbo Global Race 2024 arrives in San José and aims to provide 20 slices of bread for each participating runner

The Costa Rican capital is preparing for the Bimbo World Race 2024. This event will take place on September 29, starting at 7 am, in the Parque Metropolitano La Sabana.

The aim of the activity is to promote physical activity, intake and nutrition, all under the motto “We share the good”.

With the participation of more than 2 thousand runners, athletes will be able to choose between distances of 3 km, 5 km and 10 km, adapting to all levels and ages. In addition, this year there are athletes from Costa Rica Special Olympics Games They will join the race, promoting a message of inclusion and compassion.

“In the 2024 Bimbo Global Race, every step we take represents more than a race; It’s a testament to the power of sport as a tool for inclusion. On the athletic track, we are all equal and we see the potential from each person’s abilities. Our athletes with intellectual and developmental disabilities not only participate, but inspire everyone around them, showing that inclusion and equality is possible if we do it together,” said Manuel Corrales, Marketing Manager at Bimbo Costa Rica.

For each registered runner, the company will give 20 slices of bread through the Food Bank of Costa Rica. This action is designed to support thousands of Costa Rican families in vulnerable situations.

“We want to thank the Food Bank of Costa Rica and the Special Olympics Costa Rica for joining this initiative, with which we seek to promote a balanced life through physical activity, inclusion and nutrition.” As part of this commitment, we will provide 20 slices of bread for each person registered. We hope to attract more than 2,000 people to run for an impactful social cause,” said Corrales.

This event is part of a series of global races that will bring together more than 140,000 people around the world, with the aim of giving more than 3 million slices of bread to food banks. Bogotá, Colombia, will be the regional headquarters.
