Columbus Blue Jackets defenseman Billy Sweezey dropped the gloves in his third NHL game on Thursday against the Boston Bruins, and the least we can say is that his toughness pleased his father , who was in the stands.

The 27-year-old full-back threw the gloves past striker Jakub Lauko early in the second half and while the clash was fairly even, the paternal Ken clearly got off to a good start.
Sweezey senior, full beer in hand in the stands, was captured by the cameras immediately after the duel, celebrating his son’s effort with his fist in the air.
This is not the only fight that has toured the web in this meeting. Bruins tough guy Trent Frederic had it all with forward Lane Pederson…and things didn’t go as planned for him.
Frederic ended the fight with a single, powerful right hand punch.
The Bruins won the game 2-1 in overtime.
