Bills beat Miami 31-10 as Tagovailoa gets emotional

Miami. James Cook caught a touchdown pass and ran for two more as the Buffalo Bills beat Miami 31-10, with Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa leaving the game early with a concussion.

Tagovailoa left the field in the third quarter after colliding with defensive back Damar Hamlin and hitting the back of his head on the turf. The quarterback was quickly ruled out with the concussion, putting his season in doubt after a history of dealing with head injuries.

Josh Allen, who played with a glove on his non-throwing left hand after injuring the hand in Buffalo’s opener, completed 13 of 19 passes for 139 yards. He is 2-for-12 against the Dolphins, and the Bills are 14-2 against Miami since coach Sean McDermott’s first year as head coach in 2017.

Cook caught 17-yard touchdown passes from Allen and scored on runs of 1 and 49 yards in the first half, throwing into the end zone as he gave the Bills a 24-7 lead.

Allen didn’t appear to be limited by the left hand injury he suffered after jumping safety Budda Baker in Buffalo’s opener against the Cardinals. He had the hand wrapped before returning to finish that game and practiced all week with a glove to protect it.

It’s the Bills’ second win, while Miami suffered its first setback in Week 2 of the NFL.
