US billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk and Canadian singer Grimes broke up after three years of marriage, reports “Page Six”.
The 50-year-old head of SpaceX and Tesla confirmed to the publication that he and the 33-year-old Grimes are no longer a couple. He stressed that they have remained on good terms and continue to raise their one-year-old son X-A-XII together.
“We broke up, but we still love each other, see each other often and have a great relationship,” Musk said.
He noted that the reason for this is the frequent separation of the couple due to work.
“My job at SpaceX and Tesla requires me to be permanently in Texas or abroad, and she works mostly in Los Angeles,” the businessman explained.
The couple was last seen together at the Met Gala in early September, when Grimes was walking alone on the red carpet. Musk also attended the event, but joined her at the afterparty.
Singer Grimes met Musk in 2018. In May last year, the couple had a son, whom they named X Æ A-XII. This is the sixth child of the businessman and the firstborn of the singer. According to Grimes X, the name is an “unknown variable”, Æ is the elven spelling of AI (artificial intelligence or love), and the A-12 is an American high-altitude reconnaissance aircraft.
