When the surveillance cameras around the pool did not work either, the death drama was not captured by the hotel staff who were on duty.
Therefore, it took many minutes before the tragedy was sounded at the hotel.
Suspicious deaths have also been reported on Koh Tao in the past, and some media have labeled the holiday paradise as the “island of death”. The flood of rumors has fueled various theories as to why more tourists have lost their lives in recent years.
Fought for life
Now it turns out that one of Thailand’s richest people, businessman Rakeshwar Sachathamakul (59), fought for his life with his wife Anshoo (55) in the pool at the fashionable hotel.
According to The Phuket News Rakeshwar owned a 5-star hotel in Phuket and had several investments in the plastics industry.
The couple, who are of Indian descent but with Thai citizenship, were on holiday this week on the holiday island of Koh Tao in Surat Thani province in Thailand. A swim in the luxury hotel’s pool should show the fate.
Found the parents at the bottom of the pool
It was the couple’s son Ratish Sachathamakul (34) who found his parents lifeless at the bottom of the pool.
The son had been on a stroll on the beach near the hotel. When he returned, he discovered that both parents were dead. He immediately called the hotel staff for help getting their parents ashore, writes Bangkok Post.
Must have tried to help the spouse
Rescue crews are said to have tried to revive the couple, but their lives could not be saved.
According to the police, one of the spouses must have called for help in the pool. When the other spouse came to the rescue, both must have had problems and sunk to the bottom.
