Bille Lourd was in public grief when her mother, Carrie Fisher, and grandmother, Debbie Reynolds, died a day apart in 2016.
And now the “American Horror Story” starlet, 29, speaks candidly about the loss of her close superstars in the latest episode of the movie. New day podcast, streaming on Spotify.
“It was brutal. It was really, really brutal, and I still hesitate and stutter because it’s really hard for me, ”said Lourd.
The beautiful brunette was the only daughter of Fisher, famous for her roles in “Star Wars”, “The Blues Brothers” and “When Harry Met Sally”. Fisher died on December 27, 2016, at age 60, after spending four days in intensive care.
The next day, Reynolds – Fisher’s mother and “Singin ‘In The Rain” star among countless other films – died at 84 from a stroke.
The double tragedies suddenly left Lourd without her closest relatives, and she then struggled to adjust to their absence.
Almost five years later, Lourd says she still feels the tremendous loss.
“I miss my mom and grandma every day, but really, she’s my mom the most,” she confessed.

“She was the coolest, funniest person ever. She was my best friend ever. No one will ever be as funny as she is. She was fair – she is amazing. “
Lourd told the New Day capsule that she rarely speaks candidly about her famous mother and grandmother for fear her remarks will be misinterpreted by the media.
She said: “Everything I say turns into a headline I didn’t mean. “
The actress then referred to a particular example, saying, “There’s this one. [interview] where I said something, and it was like three months after they died. I didn’t know what I was talking about or who I was or what was going on. And I said something like, ‘Well, now that they’re gone, I’m just becoming Billie.’ “
“It was like I wanted them to die, and it’s absolutely the opposite of what I wanted. I would do anything to get them back, but I felt like I was thrilled to have the ‘Billie Show’. “
Lourd also admitted that she actively resisted linking up publicly with Fisher and Reynolds during their lifetime because she wanted to forge her own path as an actress.

But she says she now regrets that decision.
“We were offered all these random photoshoots and all these weird things that happen in my life, but I didn’t want to do them while they were alive because I wanted to make sure people knew me separately from them.” , said the star. .
“Now I wish I could go back and do all these photoshoots and do anything with them, really. “
Since the death of Fisher and Reynolds, Lourd became a mother herself. In September of last year, she gave birth to her son, Kingston, with her fiance Austen Rydell.
