Fresh off the success of this year’s Grammy Awards, Billie Eilish has new accolades and record numbers to add to her long list of accomplishments.
The 19-year-old musician made her debut last Wednesday, ditching her neon green and black locks for a simple blonde shag. She shared the post on Instagram, simply captioning the snap, “pinch me.”
Fans flooded the comments with compliments with the photo surpassing 11 million likes within hours of its posting. Since then, the photo has racked up over 20 million likes and keeps growing.
The “Therefore I Am” singer shared a more relaxed pic on Instagram Sunday with her blonde hair pulled back in a messy bun as she posed for the camera.
Eilish captioned the photo with a simple emoji that matched her mood in the photo, “????”.
As the trailblazer that she is, Eilish’s new look has broken social media records.
The first photo where she debuted with her blonde hair became the third most liked photo on Instagram and the most liked photo by a woman after surpassing Kylie Jenner’s first photo of Stormi to 18 million likes. Eilish’s post lags behind the “World Record Egg” with 54 million likes and XXXTentacion’s last post before his death in 2018, which has 23 million likes.

The photo also garnered a million Instagram likes in just six minutes, breaking the record previously held by Selena Gomez when she posted for her 26th birthday in 2018, according to the BBC.
Fans now claim her latest post has since exploded this record, receiving over a million likes in less than six minutes. While we haven’t been able to confirm, the seven-time Grammy winner has acknowledged her fans’ theories, sharing several screenshots of un tweet from a fan account claiming that she had broken another record.
Also this week, Eilish broke the internet by sharing a video on her TikTok that revealed her black and green hair was recently a wig. The video was identical to one she shared in January, confirming that she has been hiding her blonde hair ever since.
In December, she warned fans that a change was on the horizon, according to Allure. “I’m changing (my hair) after the doc is released… It will be the end of an era,” she said on her Instagram Story, before adding, “I’ll give you a new era. “
