Billie Eilish calls life with Tourette syndrome ‘very exhausting’ | show

Tourette syndrome is characterized by making short movements or sounds that you have no control over. Tics such as shaking her head, frowning and tightening her arm muscles were observed in the 20-year-old singer when she was 11 years old.

,,If you film me long enough, you will see a lot of tics. I like to talk about it because it is very interesting. And I’m all confused about it, I don’t understand,” Eilish says of her tics. The multiple Grammy winner says having the tics is “very exhausting” for her. “I don’t like it, but it’s part of me. I’m at peace with it and now I’m confident about it.”

At one point in the episode, Billie tilts her head to one side and opens her mouth, without saying a word. Letterman asks her if she saw a fly, but Billie replies that it was a tic, after which the host apologizes several times. However, according to the singer, not everyone handles it that way. “Most people laugh and think I’m trying to be funny. But it always hurts me a lot.”
