Could a return to Studio 8H be in Bill Murray‘s future? The comedic legend, who last hosted saturday Night Live a staggering 25 years ago, has hinted at a possible comeback.
Murray,74,recently appeared on the New Heights podcast hosted by NFL stars Travis and Jason Kelce, where he expressed his desire to host SNL once more. “I told ’em I’d like to host one this year,” Murray shared. “So maybe if I get organized. I think I did it two other times when I was there. I’d like to try it one more time. It might be the last time to try it.”
The actor, known for his iconic roles in films like Ghostbusters and Groundhog Day, hasn’t been a stranger to SNL as his last hosting gig in 1999. He’s made several guest appearances over the years, but never returned as host.
“People always give me a hard time about, ‘Oh, the original show was so great and it’s lousy now,’” murray said on the podcast. “And I say, ‘No, it’s not.’ The show that’s on now, they do stuff that’s just as good as anybody ever did, all the time.”
Murray’s comments come after a few challenging years for the actor, including allegations of inappropriate behavior on the set of his latest film, Being Mortal.
Whether Murray will actually return to SNL remains to be seen, but his recent remarks have certainly sparked excitement among fans.
