Bill Gates Wants To Live To Be 95 Years, There Is A Reason

Jakarta

Bill Gates have big goals, namely so that the world can be free from threats climate change. He also wanted to see what developments in anticipation of climate change would look like so he wanted to live a long life.

The founder of Microsoft has set a target that by 2050, greenhouse gas emissions can be reduced dramatically, even if possible to zero. He also hopes to witness it firsthand.

“In 2050, I will be 95 years old and I will be very happy if I live to see a day where we can get close to (the amount of emissions) close to zero,” he was quoted as saying detikINET from Wired, Wednesday (3/3/2021).

“This will be very, very hard, because it requires all countries to be involved. And that is why in 2050 it is chosen as the best because there are many things to be done,” he added.

Some parties proclaim the year 2030 to achieve zero emissions. However according to Bill Gates the target is unrealistic because the timeframe is too short. “It’s totally unrealistic,” he said in a separate interview.

Reducing carbon emissions is something that is difficult because various basic materials needed by humans still rely on them and are difficult to find replacements. There are already solutions related to transportation facilities, but there is still a lot of work to be done.

“Basically we haven’t done much on things like steel, cement, meat. Electricity, passenger vehicles, are one-third of the problem. So we have to do two-thirds of the work again,” said Bill Gates.

Previous, Bill Gates stated, solving the problem of climate change will be the greatest achievement of mankind. “(The problem of climate change) is much bigger than the pandemic. And this requires a level of cooperation that has never been done before,” he said recently.
