Rich countries around the world should eat only synthetic beef to fight the climate crisis. This was stated by Bill Gates in an interview with the magazine MIT Technology Review, convinced that the issue of CO2 emissions from the agricultural sector, in particular from livestock, is one of the most critical fronts in the fight against climate change. “I don’t think the 80 poorest nations in the world will eat synthetic beef, but I think all rich countries should switch to eating it.”
Gates in the interview, which in fact retraces many phases of his new book, “How to avoid a climate disaster”, sets out what will really be needed to eliminate the greenhouse gas emissions that determine climate change. The co-founder of Microsoft says he is seriously worried about the future of our planet, increasingly threatened by climate change to which intensive farming contributes to the food chain. For this reason he stresses that it will be important to change our eating habits. “I don’t think the poorest 80 countries will eat synthetic meat. I think all rich countries should switch to 100% synthetic beef. ‘
