Bill Gates is negotiating the purchase of agricultural land in Turkey, the Turkish newspaper Daily Sabah reported.
Officially, the billionaire is currently on vacation in the country. He was spotted having breakfast at the villa of a leading Turkish businessman.
According to the information, the founder of Microsoft is looking for approximately 741 acres of land to buy for his investment and work with local companies.
In April, the media reported that he was negotiating the acquisition of land in the European part of Turkey, which led to a rapid rise in land prices in the region.
This is the billionaire’s second visit to the country in four months.
A few days ago, Gates and Jeff Bezos were declared “hypocrites” after their call for action against climate change while reportedly partying on Bill Gates’ luxury mega yacht in a closed bay in Turkey.
Gates was spotted celebrating his 66th birthday in the Mediterranean resort of Fethiye with 50 guests last week, including Bezos, the founder of Amazon, the Daily Sabah reported.
According to the information, Gates has rented the 107-meter yacht Lana for over 1 million euros a week. On board there is a gym, jacuzzi, beach club, swimming pool, water sports equipment and special stabilizers to minimize the effects of sea waves.
According to the Turkish press, Gates rented the Sea Me beach to keep it for the holiday. Bezos, who is also on holiday in the Aegean region, reached the yacht by helicopter and motorboat.
The party lasted four hours and included a fine dinner.
