Bill de Blasio explores running for the House

Not much time has passed since he left the political scene and now former Mayor de Blasio has aspirations to reach Congress.

The former New York president is considering running as a candidate for the new 10th congressional district, and for this he announced through twitter that he has formed an exploratory committee.

In his message he indicated that he is ready to continue fighting against inequality.

The preliminary plan for drawing new congressional districts drawn up by a court-appointed special appointee was released Monday. This, after the Court rejected the proposal for new district lines approved by the state Legislature, under the control of the Democrats, considering it an unconstitutional manipulation.

The draft district maps released Monday include the new 10th district, Lower Manhattan and sections of Brooklyn, which includes the Orthodox Jewish neighborhood of Borough Park.

However, there could still be changes before the plan is finalized this Friday.

Congressman Jerry Nadler, who represents the current 10th District, recently announced that he will run as representative for the 12th district.

Primary elections for Congress will be held on August 23.
