Bill Cosby’s civil jury has resumed its deliberations after nearly reaching a verdict

Juror in civil trial of sexual misconduct allegations Actor and comedian Bill Cosby The deliberations have to start again after a verdict was reached on almost all issues on Friday.

After two days of deliberation, the jury concluded whether Cosby sexual harassment Plaintiff Judy Huth at the Playboy Mansion in 1975 when she was just 16 and whether she is entitled to damages.

The judge chose to read the verdict on questions, which the jury answered despite objections from Cosby’s attorney. However, Karlan had to reverse his decision when deputies visited the Santa Monica courthouse and asked him to leave the courtroom. The court has a required closing time of 4:30 p.m. due to the lack of budget for MPs overtime.

Karlan will not ask the juror who was forced to leave to return on Monday, so deliberations must continue with another juror in her stead. He said, “I will not take back my words.”

Earlier in the day, the judge received a note about what he called a “personal case” between two jurors that was complicating their work.

The judge called the jurors into the courtroom and asked them to agree that any juror could speak in the debates. The jury resumed deliberation but had several questions about the form of their verdict for the judge and attorneys to discuss and answer, including the calculation of damages.

After lunch, Cosby’s attorney, Jennifer Bunjian, is seeking a wrongful trial over a photograph taken by a member of Cosby’s team of a juror standing nearby accused comedian who was in the audience.

Actress Lily Bernard, who is suing Cosby, said she did not speak to a juror.

“I’ve never spoken to a jury,” Bernard told the judge from her seat in the courtroom. “I would do nothing to jeopardize this problem. I don’t even look at them.”

The jury began deliberations Thursday morning after a two-week trial. Cosby wasn’t in the courtroom.

The 84-year-old was released from prison last year after the Pennsylvania Supreme Court vacated his 2018 criminal conviction. In an excerpt from a 2015 video shown to jurors, Cosby denied any sexual contact with Huth. Both his spokesman and his attorney reiterated his denials throughout the trial.

Bonjean asked the jury in closing arguments to take up the public allegations against Cosby and alone Consideration of the evidence presented during the trial. She said the evidence didn’t prove Hoth’s case.
