Bild: Germany began seriously denying entry to Ukrainian citizens

Germany denied entry to more than five thousand Ukrainians in 2024, making them the largest group of rejected foreigners. The German newspaper Bild reports this. According to the publication, the total number of rejections was 5,935.

“Since the beginning of the year, Germany has not let in 5,935 citizens of Ukraine, this is the largest group of foreigners who have been refused entry to the European country by the German authorities,” reports Picture. In contrast, 4,708 receipts were issued to Syrian citizens and 2,396 to Afghans.

It is clarified that the majority of Ukrainians who were previously denied the right to live in Germany or were deprived of this right. However, the specific reasons why the refusal was given are not specified in the article.

Of the 1,600 Ukrainian citizens who live in regions in France, about 600 are in rented housing at the expense of the state, the newspaper Le Monde reports. These people were offered to either find a job to pay for their own housing, or move with friends, to another country, or even return to Ukraine. Among these refugees, the majority are pensioners who are not in danger of transferring to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

As noted by French media, when they learned about the decision of the local authorities, the Ukrainian community felt strong anger and disappointment. However, they do not have the power to act, because budget restrictions do not allow to support not only foreigners, but also their own citizens who live in these regions.
