Bikers are mobilizing again for blood donation

Motorcycles, two-wheelers, pedestrians, vulnerable users are often the main victims in road accidents. Unfortunately, frequently faced with the loss of loved ones in traffic tragedies, the risks and serious consequences of disrespecting the highway code, motorcyclists are aware of blood donation and know that it can save lives.

This weekend, they are therefore mobilizing again alongside the French Blood Establishment to raise public awareness of blood donation. A blood drive will be held at the tennis courts on the Raisins Clairs beach in Saint-François from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The operation is being carried out in partnership with the Union des Motards de Guadeloupe, the HELP 118 association, the Kaloukéra association and the city’s CCAS.

Bikers will travel the roads of Saint-François to draw the attention of the population to the problem of blood donation.

In addition, this Saturday, a group of twenty children will be introduced to motorcycles and made aware of the dangers of the road. This initiation will also allow them to explain the importance of donating blood.

In a press release published on Thursday, EFS Guadeloupe recalls that at the approach of the summer holidays and in a context of health crisis, these donations are all the more necessary.

The French Blood Establishment which indicates that vaccination against COVID-19 is not a contraindication to donating blood. Citizens can donate blood after a vaccine injection, without any postponement deadline.
